I use the term “neuro-complex” to describe minds that process, feel, or experience the world differently ; richly, deeply, and more sensitively.

Your brain is different in lots of ways, not just one diagnosis.

This space makes room for all of that.

It’s a non-clinical, affirming way of naming differences in thinking and being

that don’t fit the usual script, without reducing you to a diagnosis.

How therapy might help you:

  • Understand your patterns of thinking, feeling and sensing.

  • Reconnect with the authentic self beneath years of masking or adapting.

  • Develop ways to live in alignment with how your brain is wired in a way that brings you ease, self-trust, and more honest connection with yourself and others.

  • Build tools for regulation that honour your nervous system instead of fighting against it.

Whether you're recently diagnosed, self-diagnosed, or neuro-curious relating to
Autism (ASD), ADHD, AuDHD, Dyslexia, you are welcome here.

Many clients share their relief in feeling "seen" for the first time.

Your experience is validated without pathologising or judgement.

Being accepted as you are is crucial for your growth, well-being and healing.

I empathically and actively listen, attuning to you, to deeply understand your unique perspective.

Autonomous

Counselling is not about fitting in or "getting it right" or needing to mask.

It is a space where you can be authentically you, even if you feel messy and misunderstood.

Masking and suppressing your natural traits increases your level of anxiety,

risk of constant burnout, depression and trauma -related distress.

Here, your whole self is welcome. You are and always will be the expert on you.

Accessible

You will be welcome to express yourself in a flexible space

either Online, Face to Face, Walk and Talk.

We can just talk or use Sand Therapy, Nesting Doll Therapy and other creative tools

where your needs, expression and comfort are at the forefront of your sessions.

I actively encourage the use of tools like fidget toys, headphones, loops and

weighted blankets to ensure your comfort and safety.

You might even prefer shorter sessions or if online, your camera off, texting in sessions,

sitting on the floor, doodling, or being in a dimly lit room.

Reconnecting with your sensory world as a source of comfort, expression,

and embodied knowing connects you to your authentic self .

Affirming

Harmful internal and external narratives such as,

“You're too much”, “Try harder,"  "You're too sensitive"  or "You're too emotional"

negatively impacts your mental health and  self-esteem.

This increases anxiety, creates deep shame, affecting your confidence, relationships and employment.

Together we affirm your inherent value, compassionately challenging negative beliefs.

The Emotional Edit is not an Assessment Service.
