What to Expect.

I offer Face-to-Face - Online and Walk & Talk sessions

for adults (18+) in Harrogate.

Within in-person sessions, I also offer the option of

sand tray and creative therapeutic work.

Sometimes words aren’t enough and using sand tray miniatures, symbols, or gentle creative exploration can help express what feels hard to say out loud.

There is no expectation to use these tools;

they are simply there for you, when

and if you need them.

I also provide online sessions across the UK and Europe,  offering flexibility and comfort

wherever you are.

After an initial introductory call, and by mutual agreement,

we can arrange your first full session.

Each session lasts 60 minutes , a dedicated space, held just for you.

As our work unfolds, we will gently review the process together to ensure your counselling journey remains aligned with your needs, pace, and goals.

I offer both short-term and long-term counselling, with sessions available weekly or fortnightly, depending on what feels right for you.

My Letter To You.

Hello,

It’s so normal to question whether counselling is right for you.
It can feel like a big, vulnerable step, "What would I say? " "What if I get it wrong?"

You might have been telling yourself to “just push through,” or that other people have it worse.

Perhaps you feel you should be coping better than you are.

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, the ways we’ve always managed simply doesn't work anymore.

I understand that hesitation. I once wondered how talking could possibly help and worried that going to therapy meant there was something “wrong” with me.

Instead, I experienced something unexpectedly gentle yet powerful : being truly heard, accepted, and supported at my own pace.

That space allowed change to happen naturally.

My work is grounded in the Person-Centred approach developed by Carl Rogers, a belief that when we are met with empathy, authenticity, and acceptance, we begin to heal and grow.

At its heart is a deep trust that you are the expert on you.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You can't get therapy wrong.

Rogers also recognised that “the person is the expert on themselves.”

I hold that belief deeply.

I trust that you know , perhaps quietly, perhaps tentatively, what is right for you.

If you feel even a small sense of curiosity we can begin with a gentle, no-pressure call simply, a chance to connect and see how it feels.

It’s simply a gentle conversation, a chance to share what you’re looking for, to ask questions, and to sense whether this feels like a space where you could land safely.

There is no pressure. Just a first step, if and when you are ready.

With deep respect,
                       Dawn
